Research and environment
Nature for nature
From nature we receive the raw material, olives, which we transform with love and professionalism into oil. For nature, we have decided to implement a series of changes and concrete investments aimed at a sustainable approach: from reducing water consumption to self-producing energy from solar sources.
Water, a precious commodity
The vegetation water derived from processing our olives is used to fertilize the trees; we have reduced water consumption to almost zero (previously around 400 liters/hour) thanks to the purchase of innovative pressing machinery. The processing pâté, rather than being disposed of, is recovered and used as biomass to generate electricity, transforming waste into a resource.
The sun: a renewable source
85% of our Cooperative's energy needs are met by the photovoltaic system installed in 2008.
A bio-sustainable approach also involves research and innovation
The collaboration with the University of Tuscia in Viterbo has led us to participate in a series of projects, some of which are still ongoing, aimed at investigating the potential of the paté and its use: from waste material it can in fact be transformed into a valuable , not only as biomass (as it is used today), but by making the polyphenols still present available for pharmaceuticals or verifying their nutritional efficacy as feed.
